Like the lotus flower that is born out of mud, we must honour the darkest part of ourselves and the most painful parts of our experiences, because they are what allows us to birth our most beautiful, purest and true self.
Human 'mud' is:
pain, discomfort, uncertainty, challenge, hurts, loss, breakdowns etc.
These are our greatest teachers.
Here’s what I’ve learned from my “MUD”:
BEING BULLIED taught me the importance of self-worth and kindness. It helped me recognize the power of empathy and how to stand strong in the face of negativity.
GETTING SICK taught me to value my health and listen to my body. It reminded me to prioritize self-care and cherish my well-being.
JUDGEMENT taught me that others’ opinions are not a reflection of my truth. It showed me the value of self-acceptance and not seeking validation from outside.
MAKING MISTAKES taught me that failure is not the end but a stepping stone to growth. Mistakes are opportunities to learn, adapt, and become better.
BEING ABUSED taught me the importance of boundaries, self-respect, and healing. It showed me that I am not defined by what happened to me but by how I rise above it.
HEARTBREAK taught me the value of love and the importance of loving myself first. It revealed the strength in vulnerability and the beauty of moving forward.
LOSS taught me how to appreciate the present moment and the people I love. It deepened my understanding of life’s impermanence and the need to cherish every connection.
REJECTION taught me resilience and the ability to keep going, even when others don’t see my worth. It reminded me to trust my journey and find acceptance within.
FAILURE taught me perseverance. It showed me that success is built on persistence and learning from the times I fell short.
LONELINESS taught me how to find companionship within myself. It helped me appreciate the value of solitude and the strength of inner peace.
FEAR taught me the courage to step into the unknown and confront the things that hold me back. It showed me that bravery is not the absence of fear but the decision to move forward despite it.
Each of these experiences, while painful, holds the seeds of wisdom and growth. The mud is not meant to keep me stuck but to provide the foundation for me to rise and bloom, just like the lotus.
If you are not resisting and avoiding the 'mud' in your life, thank you for your bravery and perseverance. As we heal, the world is healing.
